Job Description

Associate Director, Premium Wellness Strategy & Centre Operations

The opportunity
Our client is building out a high-touch wellness offering for affluent private clients. They need a commercially minded leader to shape the wellness strategy, design programmes people will actually use, and run the day-to-day of a flagship wellness centre with an external operating partner.
This is not a spa-manager role and not a pure product role. It sits between proposition, centre P&L, partner governance, and the client-facing distribution network.
What you will own
Strategy and programme design
  • Define the wellness strategy and roadmap for affluent and ultra-affluent client segments
  • Design personalised, preventive and integrative programmes (mental, physical, nutritional) grounded in current healthspan and wellness practice
  • Evolve the centre operating model and membership / privilege structure so usage, experience and unit economics all improve
  • Track global and local wellness trends and turn them into offerings the centre can deliver
  • Use centre financials and client-profile data to spot growth, pricing and mix opportunities
Centre operations and partners
  • Oversee daily operations and P&L of the flagship centre: service standard, utilisation, cost, compliance
  • Manage and hold to account the third-party operator and specialist partners in Hong Kong and Mainland China
  • Review partner workflows, systems and SLAs; fix what is slow, inconsistent or expensive
  • Ensure documented procedures, service benchmarks, internal policy and applicable regulation are followed
  • Confirm any staff performing regulated activities hold the required licences
  • Put in place complaint handling (clients and distribution), investigation and timely reporting
  • Capture client and channel feedback and close the loop with visible improvements
  • Produce regular operating packs with the operator: KPIs, variance, recommendations
  • Own budgeting, management reporting and cost-optimisation proposals
  • Introduce simple, credible tracking / dashboards for client progress and centre performance
Commercial activation
  • Position the centre as a genuine differentiator in the firm’s affluent-client offer — not a complimentary add-on
  • Build promotion and education plans that drive booked traffic among clients and the distribution network
  • Partner with business development and training on a channel engagement plan
  • Co-design member events, internal campaigns and communications with the operator, distribution and the membership team
  • Supervise event delivery on-site
  • Work with marketing on external thought-leadership (no brand-led hype; substance only)
Leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead and coach a small multi-disciplinary wellness team
  • Set governance, working rhythms and cross-functional ways of working
  • Operate comfortably in a matrix: proposition, distribution, marketing, finance, compliance and external partners
What we are looking for
  • Degree plus 10+ years in healthcare, wellness, executive health or adjacent premium service operations
  • Genuine interest in preventive health / healthspan, and a working grasp of current wellness practice (integrative and conventional)
  • Commercial operator: you have designed or run a centre, clinic, membership facility or similarly high-touch service with numbers attached
  • Data-comfortable: you can read a P&L, utilisation report and client mix and decide what to change
  • Experience delivering a sophisticated, hospitality-grade client standard
  • Hands-on wellness-centre operations experience is an advantage, not a must if the rest is strong
  • Direct, resilient, owns outcomes; can hold a partner to an SLA without drama
  • Strong presenter; can move stakeholders and change a process
  • Comfortable with competing priorities and a matrix
  • Spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Willing to obtain any licence required if the role later touches regulated activity
Useful (not mandatory)
  • Membership or private-client economics
  • Managing an outsourced clinical / wellness operator
  • Working with a commissioned or advisor-led distribution network
  • GBA / Mainland partner management
